In the last month alone, I went through the man\u00adu\u00adscript half a dozen times. I want\u00aded it to be as good as I can make it, and now it is.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a bet\u00adter nov\u00adel than the first one, believe it or not. It\u2019s dark\u00ader, there\u2019s more char\u00adac\u00adter devel\u00adop\u00adment, and the rela\u00adtion\u00adship between Dako\u00adta and Svet\u00adlana deep\u00adens. Dako\u00adta isn\u2019t quite as quip\u00adpy, yet there are still plen\u00adty of good lines and come\u00adbacks. The impor\u00adtant thing is, it\u2019s a true sequel, pick\u00ading up only a few months after <em>A Real Piece of Work<\/em> ends. Dako\u00adta is depressed, and he\u2019s lost his detect\u00ading mojo.
